This isn’t a great week for representation of women in movies. The Cineplexes will be dominated by multiple showings of Spider-Man: Far From Home. If you want something smart and aren’t into the superhero thing, I recommend staying home and watching the fine work of Misty Upham, an Indigenous actor who died tragically in 2014. Frozen River is on Netflix now.
